The ARRIVAL ~ A Christmas Devotional - Day 10

Ephesians 6: 13 ,15 ~ Put on the full armor of God… with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

As we celebrate the Christmas season, let us remember the true source of PEACE: Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 6:15, Paul speaks of the readiness that comes from the gospel of PEACE—a message that holds special significance during Advent, as we reflect on the birth of the one who brings PEACE to the world.

Christmas emphasizes the message of PEACE as the angels declared at Jesus' birth: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth PEACE to those on whom His favor rests" (Luke 2:14). Jesus' arrival fulfilled God's promise of peace, PEACE not born from the absence of conflict, but from the presence of Christ.

The gospel of PEACE is the good news that through Jesus, we are reconciled to God and can experience His PEACE in our hearts. This PEACE transcends our circumstances, grounded in the unshakable love and grace of God made real in Christ.

As we celebrate Christ's birth, we are reminded that His PEACE is meant to transform how we live and relate to others. Ephesians 6:15 calls us to "fit our feet" with the readiness to carry the gospel of PEACE wherever we go. During Christmas, we are reminded that our journey through life should be marked by the PEACE of Christ—a PEACE we are called to share with others.

Have you put on your PEACE shoes today? No matter what challenges arise, you can be ready for anything when you remain at PEACE trusting God to help you. PEACE is a powerful gift, and when we choose to walk in it, especially through life's storms, we show our trust in God's care and provision. Let us wear our shoes of PEACE each day, trusting God with all our hearts and honoring Him by remaining peaceful amid life's turmoil.

As you gather with family and friends this season, remember that your actions, words, and attitudes reflect the PEACE of Christ. In a world full of distractions and division, your example of PEACE can point others to the true meaning of Christmas.

Let the gospel of Christ guide your steps. May His PEACE fill your heart and overflow to everyone you encounter, reminding them of the true reason for the season.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for bringing PEACE into our hearts and lives. This Christmas may I be reminded to put on my PEACE shoes to walk in Your PEACE and to share that peace with everyone I meet. Fill my heart with the readiness to share the gospel of PEACE with all who need it ~ Amen.
