The ARRIVAL ~ A Christmas Devotional - Day 11
Romans 12: 18 ~ Do the best you can to live in peace with everyone.
In a world marked by division and conflict, God calls us to live peaceably with everyone. Romans 12:18 offers a clear yet profound directive: we are to be peacemakers, striving for PEACE with all people whenever possible. Let your life reflect God’s PEACE today. While we cannot control the actions of others, we are fully responsible for our own attitudes and responses.
Living in PEACE with others often requires humility, forgiveness, and a willingness to let go of grudges. It means seeking to understand rather than to be understood, choosing kindness over retaliation, and building bridges rather than walls. However, it’s important to recognize that PEACE does not always mean avoiding conflict. Sometimes, true PEACE involves speaking difficult truths in love or standing firm in our convictions, even if it leads to temporary discomfort.
God has not called us to passivity in the face of struggle. Instead, He calls us to actively pursue PEACE, drawing on the strength and wisdom He provides. In doing so, we reflect His nature. God is a God of PEACE, and as His followers, we are invited to be instruments of PEACE in the world.
Ask yourself:
Is there anyone in my life with whom I am not at peace?
Am I holding onto any grudges or resentments that hinder peace?
In what areas of my life can I actively pursue peace today?
How can I respond in love when faced with conflict or disagreement?
Remember, PEACE is not merely the absence of conflict, but the presence of God's grace, mercy, and love in every situation. Let’s make every effort to live in PEACE with those around us, trusting that God will guide us in doing so.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for the PEACE You offer us. Help me to be a peacemaker in all my relationships. When conflict arises, give me the wisdom to respond with love, humility, and grace. Help me to seek reconciliation and live in a way that reflects Your PEACE to others. May my actions bring glory to You and draw others closer to Your heart.~ Amen.
