The ARRIVAL ~ A Christmas Devotional - Day 16
John 16:24 – “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.”
In life, it’s easy to find ourselves just striving. We work hard, carry heavy burdens, and face challenges on our own. We try to solve problems, meet our own needs, and figure it all out ourselves. But Jesus offers us a better way. He invites us to bring our needs to Him, to pray and ask in His name, and promises that we will receive. And when we do, our JOY will be complete.
Asking God for what we need isn’t about asking for things selfishly; it’s about putting our trust in Him. Jesus wants us to understand that God deeply cares for us and desires to provide for us. When we ask with faith, trusting that God knows what’s best for us, we align ourselves with His will and open the door to experience His love and provision. God wants us to experience true JOY in Him.
Too often, we try to carry the weight of our needs, fears, and desires alone. But in John 16:24, Jesus encourages us to come to Him. He wants us to experience JOY, not just any joy, but a JOY that is complete, rooted in the peace that God is at work in our lives. When we pray in Jesus' name, we remind ourselves of His power, His goodness, and His faithfulness.
God has your back. He’s with you every moment, ready to help and provide. But we have to ask. We have to trust that He’ll respond, and when He does, our JOY will be made complete.
This Christmas season, take some time to ask God for what you need, big or small. Bring your concerns, your hopes, your dreams, and your struggles to Him in prayer. And as you do, celebrate the JOY that comes from knowing God is already at work, answering your prayers and filling you with His peace.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for inviting us to bring our needs before You. Help me trust You fully, knowing that You have my best interests at heart. Fill me with Your JOY as I experience Your provision and love. I ask for Your help in the areas where I need it most, and I celebrate the peace and JOY that comes from trusting You. ~ Amen.
