Isaiah 40:31
Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Christmas is a season of waiting—anticipating both Jesus’ birth and His promised return. Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that those who wait on the Lord will find renewed strength. This is especially meaningful during Christmas when the busy season can leave us feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. But through Jesus’ birth, God gives us strength, filling us with new HOPE.
Just as Jesus brought HOPE to a weary world, He offers us the strength to persevere, especially when life feels heavy. The image of soaring on wings like eagles speaks to rising above challenges. At Christmas, we are reminded that, because of Jesus’ birth, we can rise above life’s difficulties, knowing that God is with us.
The Christmas story was full of obstacles—Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem, the lack of room at the inn, Herod’s threat to Jesus—but through it all, God was at work. Like the eagle soaring high, we can rise above life’s challenges, trusting in God’s guidance.
This verse also promises that those who trust in God will run and not grow tired, reminding us that in Christ, we can find the endurance to face life’s struggles. And when it says we will walk and not faint, it speaks to the perseverance and devotion we gain through Jesus.
Ultimately, Christmas reminds us that through Jesus, we have the strength to continue walking in faith, even when life feels long and difficult. His birth is the ultimate sign of God’s faithfulness, reminding us that He walks with us, offering HOPE, grace, and endurance to keep moving forward.
Isaiah 40:31 teaches us that waiting on God fills us with strength and HOPE. At Christmas, we celebrate the fulfillment of God’s promise in Jesus Christ, who gives us new strength, HOPE, and the ability to rise above life’s challenges. As He brought light into a dark world, He offers us the strength to persevere, walk in faith, and soar with renewed HOPE, now and always.
I believe I can fly!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I place my hope in You today. My strength is limited, but with You, I can face any challenge. Renew my strength and remind me that You are my source of energy and endurance. Let me soar above difficulties like an eagle rising above the storm ~ Amen
