The ARRIVAL: A Christmas Devotional - Day 1

December 01, 2025

'TIS the SEASON! ~ As the Christmas season approaches, it gives us a chance to pause, calm our hearts, and refocus on what Christmas is really all about: Celebrating the arrival of Jesus into the world.

During the four weeks leading up to Christmas, the advent season, join me in preparing our hearts for the celebration of Jesus at Christmas.

The word “Advent” means “to arrive”. This is a time of reflection on the gift of Christ’s birth and the anticipation of when He will return. It is a reminder to focus on the deeper meaning of the season—God’s hope, peace, love and joy. It is a reminder of his ARRIVAL!

Join me as I spend focused time connecting to the reason for the season. Let’s experience hope, peace, love & joy of the Christmas season together.

Romans 8:18 – "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us."

This verse reminds us that the struggles we face today are temporary and insignificant compared to the incredible glory and joy that await us in the future. In times of hardship, let this promise of hope and eternal reward strengthen our faith. We do not hope for what we already have; we hope for what we have yet to receive.

Hope in troubled times isn’t passive; it compels us to act. It’s not just about waiting for heaven—it’s about reflecting God’s love here and now. True hope calls us to serve others, speak up for the voiceless, work toward healing, and maintain a spirit of kindness and forgiveness—even in the face of hardship.

As we enter the Christmas season, filled with busyness and distractions, let this verse remind us to look beyond the surface and embrace the deeper meaning of Christ's birth. Christmas is not just about gifts and traditions; it’s about celebrating the fulfillment of God's plan for redemption and the HOPE brought into the world through Jesus’ arrival.

Through Christ, God’s love, peace, and salvation are available to all. Jesus came to bring hope, healing, and reconciliation to a broken world. As we reflect on this, let the HOPE of the season fill our hearts and inspire us to share that light with others. Let’s show the true reason for the season by honoring God's promise—the birth of Jesus—and sharing His HOPE with the world.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, let this season of advent provide me with a spiritual renewal anticipating celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Let me find tangible ways to share God’s love and hope with others. Prepare my heart for “The Arrival”. ~ Amen
