My Vision, Jesus's Way Week 35

My Vision ~ Jesus’s Way

The wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. ~ James 3:17

James reminds us that there are two kinds of wisdom competing for our attention. One is the wisdom of the world, driven by selfish ambition, pride, and compromise. The other is the wisdom from heaven, marked first and foremost by purity.

“The wisdom from above is first of all pure”

Purity here doesn’t mean perfection, it means an undivided heart. It’s about living with integrity, not bending God’s truth to fit our desires or the world’s standards. Purity is being authentic in Christ: what you believe in your heart is consistent with how you live in the world.

When we choose God’s wisdom, we’re choosing to live without hidden agendas, without masks, and without compromise. It’s a daily decision to say, “Lord, I want my thoughts, my choices, and my actions to reflect You.”

Living with heavenly wisdom doesn’t always make life easier, but it makes it richer. It keeps us grounded in peace when the world around us is chaotic. It helps us love sincerely when it would be easier to self-protect. And it calls us back to authenticity - walking in God’s Word, not just knowing it.

3 Steps to Walk in God’s Authenticity This Week:

1. Speak with honesty and grace. Commit to one conversation this week where you resist the temptation to “sugarcoat” or impress and instead speak the truth with kindness.

2. Align actions with Scripture. Before making a decision - big or small - pause and ask, “Does this line up with God’s Word?” If not, choose the way that honors Him.

3. Practice consistency in private and public. Live the same faith when no one is watching as you do when everyone is. Let integrity be the thread that ties together your daily life.

Dear Lord ~ Thank You for the gift of wisdom from above. Guard my heart from the pull of worldly wisdom that tempts me to compromise or act in self-interest. Help me live with a pure devotion to You - authentic, consistent, and grounded in Your Word. Shape my integrity so that my faith is seen not just in words but in how I live each day. May my life bear good fruit that brings glory to You. ~ Amen.
