My Vision ~ Jesus’s Way

But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. ~ Micah 7:7

Have you ever worked so hard toward something - put in the time, the effort, the late nights - and still felt like you were standing still? I’ve been there lately. Doing everything I know to do, but not seeing the progress I hoped for. It’s frustrating. Honestly, it can make you wonder if all the effort and prayer are even moving the needle.

But then I read Micah 7:7, and it shifted something in me. Micah wasn’t living in easy times. Everything around him was falling apart, yet he chose faith: “I will look to the Lord. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.”

This verse isn’t blind optimism; it’s grounded hope. It’s a reminder that even when we can’t see progress, God is still present, still listening, and still moving.

Micah doesn’t sugarcoat anything. Things were falling apart around him, but he made a choice: I will look to God. I will wait for Him. I know He hears me. There’s something powerful about that kind of faith, where you’re not blindly optimistic, but deliberately hopeful. The kind of optimism that’s grounded in God’s character, not our current results.

Micah challenges us to lift our eyes off our circumstances and focus on the One who holds the future. He reminds us that waiting on God isn’t weakness, it’s trust. And that trust, rooted in God’s unchanging character, brings real strength and renewal.

You’re not stuck. You’re being shaped. I am being shaped. Every moment of trust, every whisper of prayer, every step of faith, it all matters. And that optimism - that hopeful, confident feeling you have walking in His truth will have you stepping into the week with great optimism!

If you're working toward a goal that feels distant or delayed, here are three practical ways to walk in faith and optimism this week:

1. Look to God first - Before stress takes over or doubt sets in, pause and turn your focus to Him. A simple, honest prayer, “Lord, help me refocus”, can bring clarity and peace in the middle of the chaos.

2. Wait with hope - Waiting doesn’t mean nothing is happening. It means God is still writing your story. Let’s move from frustration to faith, believing that delay is not denial.

3. Pray with optimism - God hears you. Really. So let’s stop praying like we’re just venting to the sky. Let’s pray with a sense of holy optimism, believing our words matter and that God responds in His perfect timing.

You may not see it yet, but your persistence, your prayers, and your trust in Him are not wasted. God’s in it with you. God is in it with me.

Dear Lord ~ I’m tired of feeling stuck. I’ve been working hard and waiting long, but today I choose to trust You again. Help me look to You first, wait with hope, and pray like I believe You hear me, because I know You do. Thank You for being faithful, even when I can’t see it yet. ~ Amen.
